Utah Teens Compete In Robotics State Championship

Dozens of students, ranging from 7th to 12th grades, participated

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - A big competition at Weber State University, today, that you won't hear about in sports. It’s the robotics competition.

Dozens of students, ranging from 7th to 12th grades, participated. Each team had up to 10 members.  The kids design, build and program robots to complete certain jobs.

This year’s challenge was to create robots that can climb mountains, rescue climbers and collect debris.

36 teams competed in the competition this year. The obvious goal is for students to have fun combining math, science and engineering.
