Therapist at youth facility facing charges of rape, sex abuse

UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- A therapist at a youth treatment center is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse after police say he abused a patient during therapy sessions.

41-year-old Scott Calder of Bountiful is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who, until recently, worked at the facility in Utah County. The 16-year-old victim told investigators Calder abused her numerous times between March 2017 and late June 2017. At the time, she was a resident at the inpatient treatment facility he was employed.

He was booked into Utah County Jail on the following charges: 1 count of rape, a first degree felony; 10 counts of forcible sodomy, a first degree felony; and 1 count of forcible sexual abuse, a second degree felony. 

Calder had most recently been working at a residential treatment center in Salt Lake County. Anyone who may have abused by Calder is asked to contact the Utah County Sheriff's Office 801-851-4010.
