SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - Talk about a win-win this weekend for aspiring young gymnasts in Utah.
Gold medal winning gymnast Laurie Hernandez made a guest appearance at Black Diamond Gymnastics in South Jordan on Saturday.
At age 17, she is an inspiration to the young girls who were thrilled to see her.
Hernandez was asked how she feels about being treated like a star everywhere she goes. "I'm really not used to it yet," she said.
This event was also a fundraiser for Primary Children's Hospital. Lucas Sports worked with Black Diamond Gymnastics and provided some incentives to the young, hopeful Olympians.
In all, the girls got inspiration to follow their dreams and the event raised 90 thousand dollars, much of that going to Primary Children's Hospital to save young lives.
