FAIRVIEW, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - A Sanpete County man was killed this morning while driving on Highway 89 near Fairview.
Just after 5 a.m., a GMC pick-up truck was traveling northbound along the highway near milepost 296 when the vehicle struck a dead cow in the road. The driver, 60-year-old Randall Hill from Fairview, lost control of the truck and rolled off the road into a power pole.
Hill was not wearing his seat belt and was partially ejected from the truck. He died from his injuries at the scene.
There was heavy, dense fog in the area at the time of the accident.
There is no indication as to how the dead cow wound up in the middle of the road.
