Man Arrested for Arson After Heber City House Fire Kills Two Cats

The man was arrested after he fled from the scene of the fire

HEBER CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) A Heber City man has been arrested for arson after fleeing the scene of a fire that damaged a home and killed two cats. 

46-year-old Robert Irvin Doan III was arrested on suspicion of 2nd Degree Arson after Heber City Officers responded to a report of a house fire and upon arrival found the house fully engulfed.

Wasatch County Fire/EMS searched the house for occupants but no one was inside the home, however there were two cats inside the home that had died. 
The home belongs to Doan's father and it is believed Doan was living in the basement where the fire started. 
Neighbors reported seeing Doan run from the home after the fire had already started. 
Estimates on damages is not known at this time but investigators said the house is severely damaged.
