Huntsman Cancer Institute race held at the "U"

Event helped raise money for cancer survivors

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - Hundreds of people raised money for cancer research up at the "U" today and some of them worked very hard to do it.

First there was the 5K race with a third of the runners being cancer survivors.

Then the grueling part was a 140 mile bike ride all the way from Delta and that part of the race had an amazing beginning.

Susan Sheehan, CEO of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, told Good4Utah, “It started with a gentleman who was a cancer survivor who celebrated his suvivorship with cancer by riding his bike from Reno, Nevada every year all the way back to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. And about 5 years ago we decided, well maybe we could meet up with Jeff in Delta, Utah and ride with him for the last 140 miles.”

They called this the Huntsman Heroes Race, and after reading that, you can understand why.
