LAS VEGAS, Nevada (ABC4 News) - A 3-year-old boy visiting Las Vegas with his family died after being left in a car at the Grandview Las Vegas Report Saturday afternoon, Las Vegas Now reports.
Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived just before 5 p.m. to Chase Lee of Fillmore, Utah, unconscious in a car seat with the windows rolled up.
Officers determined the child was suffering from heat-related injuries and attempted to perform CPR. Medical responders arrived and transported the boy to the hospital where he later died.
Police say the child was part of a large family visiting from Utah and believe the family got caught up in the festivities and lost track of the child. Police believe Chase had been in the car approximately an hour.
The investigation is ongoing, the parents are not suspected of being under the influence and it is not clear if they will face any charges.
