St. George quintuplets need specialized care

ST. GEORGE (News4Utah) - News4Utah has been following the story of the St. George family expecting quintuplets. The five babies are growing and at seventeen weeks they're the size of a pear - five pears.

"I'm so excited to find out what we're having and I am so hoping there is one little girl in there," said Mom Jamie Scott.

"I think there is going to be four girls and one boy," guessed 12-year-old Shayden about his new siblings.

"It's the number one thing people are asking: 'When is the gender reveal? When is the gender reveal?'," said dad Skyler Scott.

The gender reveal is happening next week and you can watch it live on the Scott's Facebook page  January 4 at 8 am.

It'll be taking place in Phoenix, the Scott's new home away from home - Skyler and Jamie are moving Friday.

"It's a high risk pregnancy," said Jamie. So high risk that a specialized doctor in Arizona is taking over - known for delivering healthy sets of multiples.

"We've had a really loving doctor that was our fertility specialist that in a loving way looked at us and said: You know, I've been doing this for 30 years, we've never had quints make it," said Skyler.

For this reason the family has decided on the specialized care. But while they're gone their Utah neighbors will stay busy. They're already signing up to help with the newborns once everyone is back safe in St. George.

"We'll have people on shifts every three hours. The focus will be on feeding those babies, changing those babies, loving those babies," said Jamie. "

We've never been in a situation where you have so many people praying for you, but you can feel it. However this turns out, we're excited to welcome five babies into our family," said Skyler.
