25-year-old killed in explosion at Hurricane trucking service area

HURRICANE (News4Utah)- A 25-year-old mechanic is dead after an explosion at a trucking facility in Hurricane.

It happened Monday around 12:30 p.m. at DATS Trucking located at 321 North Old Highway 91.

Officials say the man, an employee of the company, was replacing a part on a fuel trailer when he was suddenly blasted by an explosion.

Coworkers found the man unconscious and called 911, police say.

He was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries. 

Investigators say they are working on the cause of the explosion.

The man's identity has not been released to the public.
