Rollovers close Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon

- SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Two rollover accidents closed Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon Wednesday night.

Lt. Justin Hoyle of Unified Police Authority confirmed the accident in Big Cottonwood Canyon occurred around 5:30 p.m. It involved one vehicle with two passengers. The vehicle struck a boulder, causing it to roll. The male passenger was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition. The female driver was transported by ambulance to IMC in serious condition.

UPA suspects alcohol was a contributing factor in the Big Cottonwood Canyon accident.

The Little Cottonwood rollover involved one vehicle with one individual. UPA confirmed the victim was a woman. She sustained critical injuries.
