Provo Interim Police Chief Announced

PROVO, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Provo Police Chief John King recently resigned because of sexual assault allegations. 
 
The Mayor of Provo revealed his decision on who will take over and named Richard Ferguson interim police chief. 
 
"It is a big honor, it's the biggest honor professionally I've ever experienced in my life. It's humbling. The men and women of the Provo Police Department are the very best so to be asked to lead them at this time, it's the biggest honor I've ever experienced," said Ferguson. 
 
Ferguson, next month, will hit the 26-year mark of working with the Provo Police Department. He says he's always wanted to be a police officer and follow his his father's footsteps.
