Man killed after rolling off I-215 freeway onto car below identified

UPDATE: Police have identified the man killed after his car went off the I-215 freeway Sunday and struck another vehicle on 3500 South as 44-year-old Jared P. Lund  of New Harmony.

WEST VALLEY CITY (News4Utah) - One person is dead and two are injured after a rollover crash on I-215 at 3500 South.

Sgt. Brady Zaugg of the Utah Highway Patrol said the accident call came in around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

A Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on I-215 near 3500 South when the vehicle jumped the ramp and landed on 3500 South, impacting a GMC Envoy that was traveling east

The male driver of the Tundra was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 44-year-old Jared  P. Lund of New Harmony, Uah.

The two occupants of the Envoy were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are expected to recover

Both directions of 3500 South were closed for several hours.
