OMG fire burns west of St. George

ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A wildfire has burned 1,400 acres west of St. George on the Shivwits Indian Reservation, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

The lightning caused fire started around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21st, according to wildfire officials. It is reported to be burning in cheatgrass.

Highway 91 may be closed intermittently as the incident develops, officials report.

The name of the wildfire comes from its close proximity to the old OMG Plant, which was a Gold Mining Mill.
