SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) -- Nurses are recommending pre-teens get vaccinated against meningitis as they head back to school.

The Utah School Nurse Association says vaccination is recommended for 11- to 12-year-olds with a booster dose by the age of 18.

Those kids are at the greatest risk of catching the disease from things like kissing, sharing water bottles or being in close contact with friends.
