The Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition is coming up June 11th through June 25th at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Salt Lake City.

This year, 39 pianists have been invited to be official competitors.  They were chosen from more than 200 applicants in auditions held in six cities around the world.

The competition attracts the world's most promising pianists, and that provides an unforgettable cultural exchange for host families and musicians who open their homes for the competition.

In fact, the competition is a success largely because of the Utah families that invite the musicians to stay with them.  The families provide all lodging, meals, transportation as well as a grand piano for the musicians to practice on.

During the competition, twelve competitors will advance to the semi-final round, and three finalists will perform a concerto with the Utah Symphony on June 25th at Abravanel Hall.

If you'd like to be a host family, please email info@bachauer.com.
