The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts is now ready to serve the people of Southern Utah. The theater, located on the Southern Utah University campus in Cedar City, Utah is well know as the home of the Utah Shakespeare Festival. The project was named the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts after it recieved a $6 million gift from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation. The foundation operates in the honor of Beverley Taylor Sorenson, a tireless advocate for arts education. She was a visionary who believed in the power and impact art has on children’s lives.
The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts includes:
- The Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA)
- The Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre
- The Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre
- The Randall L. Jones Theatre
- The Festival’s Administrative Offices, Costume Shop and Education Hall
The Southern Utah Museum of Art helps sudents get involved in art and collects art from the region.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival is a leading regional theatre company that is nationally recognized for its artistic excellence as the Tony Award-winner for outstanding regional theatre.
