Utah State University Extension in Salt Lake County presents "Savvy Sewing Day Camp, for Beginners".

The day camp is geared toward kids ages nine to 18 and will provide basic sewing education.  It will teach fundamentals of sewing through hands-on learning.

It will be held July 10th and 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 South State Street, South Building Room S-1010.

Youth who register for the day camp will also be enrolled in 4-H though September. With a 4-H membership, youth can enter their sewing item in the Salt Lake County Fair held Aug. 6 to 9, 2014. Cost for the two-day camp is $20 per person and includes 4-H summer membership.

Kids are encouraged to bring their own basic sewing notions including seam ripper, seam gauge, pins, fabric scissors, basic craft scissors and marking pen or pencil.  If they have a sewing machine, bring that too!
