“The support was so big here in Utah we thought rather than wait a full year lets do a second one. Last year we had over 70,000 people and this year we're expecting the same potentially up to 100,000,” said Dan Farr the Salt Lake Comic Con Producer.
Farr is the king of Salt Lake Comic Con. He says the fans just couldn't get enough and the celebs loved Utah too! Big names like William Shatner, Nathan Fillion and everyone's favorite power ranger Jason David Frank are all in town to meet and greet.
"I dress up as the green ranger for the fans and it takes a long time to do that but one of the reasons I dress up is because I love to see the 28 and 30 year old guys just go back to being a child again,” said Jason David Frank who plays the role of the Green Power Ranger.
Stars are promising to leave no fan behind when it comes to the ultimate Comic Con experience. "I want to fulfill every childhood dream. I don’t want them to meet someone and say uh… it's not what I thought. So, I definitely work hard to fit that role,” said Frank.
So, whether you're a power ranger fan, a trekkie, Sci-Fi fanatic or you're just looking to have a good time, Salt Lake Comic Con is for everyone. You can take even take pictures with a world record breaking balloon sculpture being built by a single person. "It’s going to be a giant robot 55 feet tall 35 feet wide,” said John Reid, from Epic Balloons.
Plus, who doesn't want to go back in time and sit in the legendary back to the future DeLorean while also helping fund research for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease. "We've raised over a 180,000 dollars at shows like this from the love of fans making donations to have their picture in the car you can even hover on the hover board,” said Terry Holler from the "Back to the Future" booth and one of the builders of the DeLorean.
Comic Con is April 17th-19th. For tickets and information visit http://www.saltlakecomiccon.com
