Take a walk for a good cause this weekend with The Wendy Walk in Park City. The Wendy Walk was founded in 2010 by Ali, Matt and Jackie Landes in an effort to try and save their mom's life in her battle with Liposarcoma Cancer.

The Wendy Walk raises funds and awareness for rare sarcomas through its nationwide events. The Wendy Walk has major events in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. This year they have expanded to Park City.

These walks have raised over two million dollars to date for research. There are many "orphan cancers" which ONLY receive research funding through private contributions. The

Wendy Walks give hope, courage and support to all suffering from those rare cancers.
Sadly Wendy passed away in March of 2013, but The Walks continue to honor her memory and help all those affected by rare cancers.

Throughout her ordeal Wendy remained active and positive, never giving up her will to live each day to the fullest and always remaining strong in her conviction that her cancer did not define her

Her motto was "I am not my scans." Wendy Walk Park City is founded on the idea that we can still live a healthy and active lifestyle even during times of illness.

Wendy Walk shows that life with an orphan cancer can be filled with hope and positivity, and with continued support even medical miracles.

The Wendy Walk works to promote compassion, empathy, positivity, and most importantly a sense of community to demonstrate that individuals and families affected by orphan cancers can still maintain a life of joy, athletic activity and connectedness.
