LAYTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The LDS Church is opening a one of a kind facility in Layton on Thursday.

It’s a new welfare complex that has a Deseret Industries, bishop's storehouse, home storage center, LDS Family Services, Church Distribution Center, and LDS Employment Resource Services all under one roof.

It’s the first time a church welfare complex has included all of these services in the same location.

Kirk Bitton, who serves as an LDS stake president says this facility will help not only members of the LDS church but the entire community, especially during this hard economic time.

Bitton said, “It's wonderful we are excited. So is the city. The city has been very supportive in the building of this facility here.”

The complex will be dedicated on Wednesday night and opens to the public on Thursday.

Incidentally, 2008 marks the 70th anniversary of Deseret Industries.
