SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 31-year-old Murray man has been booked into jail for the shooting death of a woman that happened two hours after police responded to a reported fight between the couple.
Authorities say in a probable cause statement that Ryan Randy Robinson is suspected of shooting 25-year-old Shantelle Reid on April 9 in the home where he lived with his parents.
Authorities say Reid's body was found after police responded to the home for a second time. Police initially responded a few hours earlier after neighbors called about a fight between Robinson and Reid, but officers found no sign of physical abuse, and say they had no probable cause to detain Robinson.
Robinson has been released from the hospital after being shot by police when they tried to arrest him.
