Woman arrested for trying to burn down coffee shop

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - A woman is accused of trying to burn down a Beans and Brew in Salt Lake City.

Officers say Rina Bowen, 47, tried to stuff newspapers under the door of the coffee shop on the corner of 9th South and 5th East.

Police say they found her with the lighter in her hand and those newspapers on fire.

“No reason that we know of that she would target the business. She had put papers in the front door and lit them on fire,” said Detective Greg Wilking with Salt Lake City Police Department.

Bowen is facing arson charges in the case.
