Utah sales tax receipts up in various cities

- PROVO, Utah (AP) - Provo officials say sales tax receipts for the city are up 16.2 percent this May compared to last year for the same month.

Administrative Services Director John Borget tells the Daily Herald that the city's year-to-date sales tax receipts are up 6.4 percent over last year, or about $800,000.

Borget says construction projects are helping boost the receipts.

Borget says sales tax revenue is up statewide for the year by nearly 11 percent.

Cities that are seeing increases include St. George, Ogden, Sandy, and Salt Lake City.
