University of Utah police investigating abduction attempt on campus

- SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- Authorities at the University of Utah are investigating an attempted abduction that occurred on campus Tuesday.

University Police confirmed that a man in the passenger seat of a white Toyota Corrola grabbed a 19-year-old woman by the arm and tried to force her into the car. The woman managed to escape and reported the incident to authorities. Police believe the man relented when he noticed witnesses in the area.

The suspect is described as a white man with short blond hair. The attempted abduction is the second report of campus violence against women in as many months. University police received a report on Feb. 6 of a sexual assault that occurred on campus on Jan. 22.
