LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah (Good 4 Utah) - Two different search and rescues Saturday had two very different outcomes.

The first was near the White Pine Trailhead in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

On Friday a friend of a hiker called police and said the 35-year-old man had not shown up when he was supposed to be picked up.

Police searched by ground and air Friday night, but couldn't find the man.
“We reinstituted that rescue this morning, and air assets subsequently found the victim in a valley in Little Cottonwood Canyon, said Sheriff Jim Winder. “It appears that victim too suffered a long fall”

Winder says that the man was killed in that fall.

He's now been identified as Andrew Sharp, who lived in the Salt Lake Valley.

Also in little cottonwood canyon, a 40-year-old man had gone bow hunting early this morning when he too fell off a cliff and injured his legs.

He was unable to walk out of the canyon, and had to be rescued by a helicopter.

He's now in a hospital in good condition.
