'Suspicious death' ruled murder, police say

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Wednesday Unified Police Department was called to W. Blue Meadow Drive on a missing person call. Family members called to report they had not spoken with or seen a 59-year-old Margaret Steffey
who resides at this home since Saturday. Steffey lived at the house alone.

During the investigation, officers checked the home for Steffey. In the process of searching the home they found a body. There was evidence at the scene that led UPD officers to believe that the death was suspicious.

It was learned through the investigation that there was no damage to any exterior property indicating no signs of forced entry.

Following an autopsy, it was learned that the victim is an adult female that was murdered. The cause of death is suffocation.

It is not know at this time what was used to kill Steffey. 

At this time police do not have any suspect information. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect. If anyone has information about this crime, saw anyone suspicious in the area of the crime since Saturday call the UPD at 385-468-9816.
