SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- (ABC4 News)- Two suspects from Credit Union robberies have been caught and charged for crimes.

Alexander Gregory Jones, and Mehvish Masih have been taken into custody and charged for the robberies of the Cyprus Credit Union off Redwood Road in Riverton and Mountain America Credit Union on South Highland Drive in Holladay.

Law enforcement officers received information from two witnesses who identified Jones as the suspect, from still photos taken from the surveillance videos of the robberies at both credit unions.

Both citizens were familiar with Jones, and claimed that he had offered to sell one of them a blue Ford Taurus— which was the get-away-vehicle used in the first robbery. Jones had also mentioned having possession of a white Audi convertible. The suspects escaped the second robbery in a similar vehicle.

On December 13, 2012, law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop of a stolen white Audi with a black convertible top. They identified the driver as Mr. Jones and the passenger in the vehicle as Mehvish Masih.

A later investigation of Jones’ telephone showed information and internet searches regarding the two robberies.

On January 3, 2013, law enforcement officers interviewed Masih at her residence in regards to the robberies. Masih confessed to being the driver in both robberies. She also claimed to have written out the demand notes used in each robbery.
