SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah)- Southbound I-15 at 5300 S was closed Saturday morning due to a standoff.

The incident started in Sunset early Saturday morning when an officer began to pursue a stolen RV. The driver refused to stop and led officials on a chase onto I-15 southbound toward 4500 South.

UHP says the RV’s tires were spiked twice before the vehicle finally came to a stop in the middle of I-15 at about 5800 South. The driver barricaded himself inside the motor home and refused to come out.

Around 7:30 a.m. officials had the man in custody. Nobody was injured.

The freeway was open by about 8 a.m.

ABC 4 will have more details on this incident as they become available.
