The new departments store will be 20,000 square feet larger than its existing Fashion place location with the latest and greatest technology allowing shoppers to have an improved experience.“They have a lot of great technology in place now with remote POS systems and different things that can allow shoppers to interact more effectively with the sales people,” said Dorris.
However, with all the construction and improvements to the mall in recent years it has some questioning if the cost is worth it."It’s not struggling. It is actually doing very well and that is why we are able to make these new developments happen and the retailers are recognizing that and we are in a really great place right now economically,” said Natalie Watson, senior marketing manager for Fashion Place Mall.
As for the current Dillard’s it will stay open for business, but what will replace the north end building remains a mystery. However, other changes coming our way include
The demolition is expected to take about four weeks to complete and the new Dillard’s will open their doors by spring of 2015.
