Salt Lake's homeless receive Thanksgiving dinner, vaccines at Rescue Mission banquet

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Wednesday Utah’s homeless community received a warm meal, hot showers, new clothes, haircuts and flu shots as part the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake’s annual “Day-Before-Thanksgiving Banquet”.

Utah Governor Herbert and Lt. Governor Spencer Cox served dinner to the community.  As part of the recent Hepatitis A outbreak, the Utah Department of Health will also be providing a vaccine clinic during the banquet.

The Mission is also accepting donations for their Thanksgiving Campaign. A donation of  $19.40  will provide 20 meals for the homeless. Click here if you’d like to donate.

Since 1972, the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake has been taking  care of Utah’s most vulnerable populations by providing night shelter, hot meal meals, counseling and addiction recovery.
