Pedestrian dragged 75 feet by hit-and-run driver

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- Police are working to identify both the victim and the driver in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in Salt Lake City Monday night, which left a man seriously injured after being dragged 75 feet.

Salt Lake City Police say the man was walking along 1000 West when the driver of a silver mid-size car hit him near the intersection of 1700 South. Police say the man was dragged before the car took off. The vehicle officers are seeking would have front end damage and a missing passenger side mirror. The crash was witnessed by people near the scene, according to police.

The victim, who was wearing a brown coat and a cowboy hat, appeared to be a man in his 50s, but police could find nothing on the man to identify him. He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.
