PARK CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Several Park City schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday after officials say a man was spotted near the schools with a gun.
Around 9:30 a.m. a student at Park City High School reported seeing the man with the gun in the field between the high school and McPolin Elementary School. The district placed all schools on the Kearns campus immediately on lockout and the high school on lockdown.
About 40 minutes later, police located the suspect near the 1700 block of Kearns Boulevard and the lockouts were lifted.
Investigators say the City Attorney's Office is screening possible charges for the suspect.
Park City Police and district officials say they are thankful the student followed protocol and reported suspicious activity to officials. The district is asking parents to remind students to go over the school district's emergency procedures.
This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
