O.C. Tanner honors Olympic athlete mentors with contest

(ABC 4 UTAH) - US Olympians and Paralympians in Utah are honoring the people who inspired them. 25 athletes submitted stories about their inspirational mentors to O.C. Tanner's inspiration award contest and after 2 million votes, the stories of 4 Olympians and 4 Paralympians were chosen as winners.

They’ll receive a handcrafted gold ring to give to their mentors. O.C. Tanner already
creates and donates rings for every US Olympic athlete but wanted a way to recognize those who help those athletes make it to the Olympics.

The 14 karat gold ring bears the symbol of a Greek mentor as well as the words "inspire," "Olympian," and "mentor" in Greek.  Among the winners is Danielle Umstead, a Paralympian from Utah. She nominated her father, peter.
