MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A Midvale man is facing serious charges for allegedly abducting a woman and raping her at a Murray plant nursery.

If you're a woman out by yourself, 23 year old Eduardo Mena-Alonso may be one of the last people you'd like to meet.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Mena-Alonso allegedly kidnapped a woman and raped her inside the Winchester Gardens plant nursery at 389 W. Winchester St. in Murray.

"I think it's pretty scary," said Amy Jackson, heard about alleged rape.

"That's kind of gross," said Kaitlyn Pihl, heard about alleged rape.

"I think it's terrible," said Darren Curtis, heard about alleged rape.

According to the report, Mena-Alonso met the woman on Sunday, took her to a trailer inside the nursery and tried "sexual things" with her. The woman screamed, a worker saw her trying to escape and called 911.

ABC 4 spoke to women at a nearby TRAX station who say the situation makes them nervous.

"You just have to be vigilant and on your guard," said Jackson.

"Obviously that's why I don't go out alone, because stuff like that tends to happen," said Pihl.

If you're a woman worried about Mena-Alonso, you should know he is being charged with aggravated kidnapping, rape, and forceable sexual abuse, among other charges.
