MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A man is in custody after he allegedly fired a shot and barricaded himself inside his home Monday evening.

According to Unified Police, the 19-year-old was inside a house in the area of 700 E. Empire Ave. when he got into an argument Monday afternoon with an unwanted guest. The suspect allegedly fired shots at a car while the other person was in the vehicle. Shortly after, the suspect barricaded himself inside the home and prompted a standoff with police.

At about 6:15 p.m. police sent in a SWAT unit to the scene. About an hour later, the man was taken into custody without incident, according to police.

Police arrested Jacob McGrath on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and discharge of a weapon within city limits.

Monday's incident was the second tense standoff with law enforcement in less than 24 hours. Late Sunday night, another man in Murray was arrested after allegedly firing a shot with a shotgun and barricaded himself inside a home. The ensuing standoff with Murray Police lasted through the night. The suspect eventually surrendered and was arrested early Monday morning.
