Lightning strikes 11 planes, causes delays

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 UTAH) - Lightning struck 11 planes on Wednesday night causing a series of cancellations at Salt Lake International Airport. Ten of the planes were from Delta Airlines and one was from United Airlines.

Mechanics inspected the planes as a precaution before letting them fly again causing several cancellations. The planes that have been inspected have not had any damage.

As of Thursday, there was only one delay from the lightning and most flights were back on schedule.
