Family cat dies in apartment complex fire

MAGNA, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - The Red Cross is helping nine families in Magna after an apartment fire Monday evening.

Now investigators will be trying to determine how exactly the fire started.

I had just barely left here to go to a family function and so I came right back and seen the top apartment is basically gone,” said Brandon Saville, a resident in the complex.

Two units on the top floor of the complex at 8046 West Copperfield place were destroyed other units suffered smoke and water damage.

No one was injured, but a family's cat died.

The damage was significant, but crews say a firewall at the complex kept it from being much worse.
