Police were initially called to the scene on a noise complaint, said Davis County Sheriff Deputy Scott Harper. After police returned to their vehicle, the suspect intentionally turned his music back up.
As officers returned to residence the man threatened officers and "sicked" his dogs on them, said Harper.
Officials say the officers returned to their vehicle as a safety precaution and called for backup.
As officers were sitting in their vehicle, they noticed the individual standing in his front window with what appeared to be a long rifle. Officers then put up a perimeter and called the Davis County SWAT team to the scene.
Harper said Bountiful and Layton SWAT teams assisted Davis County SWAT in contacting the individual, but he refused to exit the home.
After negotiators determined the man was not willing to exit the home, SWAT pierced several windows of the man's home with a bearcat and initiated the use of tear gas in the situation, Harper said
Around 7:30 a.m., the man exited the building and officers took him into custody.
The man was booked into the Davis County Jail.
