Charges filed against suspect for shooting at cops, cars

FARMINGTON, Utah. (ABC 4 News) – Charges have been filed against a man who shot at a car on Legacy Parkway and shot at police officers.

Marco Antonio Guizar is charged with one count of attempted aggravated murder, 3 counts of aggravated assault and one count of failure to stop or respond to the command of a police office, all are felonies.

Guizar has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

The charges come from the January 16th incident.

Davis County dispatch received several calls about a driver of a grey sedan shooting at a white pickup truck around Legacy Parkway in Farmington.

Two police officers responding to the call saw the vehicle exiting Legacy Parkway. Guizar was the driver of the gray sedan that refused to pull over for the officers and a high-speed chase ensued through quiet neighborhoods in Farmington.

The chase ended around 650 W State St in Farmington, where the suspect allegedly shot at the officers. Officers returned fire, but no one was hit. The suspect was taken to the hospital and later released.
