Arrests made after chemical spill evacuates Riverton Walmart

RIVERTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Riverton Walmart at 13502 South Hamilton Road was evacuated Saturday afternoon when an individual released a chemical, similar to pepper spray, in the air.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of Unified Police Authority said approximately 80 victims were treated at the scene and three were transported to an area hospital.

Unified Police booked Jordan Ryan Crane and Madison Valerie Durrant into the Salt Lake County Jail Saturday night in connection with the incident.

Crane is charged with 1 count of Terroristic threats and causing a catastophe, 3 counts of aggravated assault, 81 counts of assault and 1 count of obstructing justice.  Durrant is charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of obstructing justice.

Wal-Mart spokeswoman, Kayla Whaling says their officials will be working closely with the Department of Agriculture to make sure all product is up to the highest standard.
