The popular 70s folk band, America, stops in Utah Thursday night for a classic show.

America is best known for its huge hit single “Horse with no Name.” It reached the top spot on the billboard hot 100 in 1972. It was recently featured on the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie, American Hustle.

Founding members, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, say their show has changed since they started 40 years ago.

“We've really keyed in on the show in the last decade added the video enhancement and cherry picked songs that we can platoon in and out depending on venue. It’s a satisfying evening,” said Beckley.

“Well the crowds are always great. You have a lot of beautiful venues in Utah. All around Utah the particular one is a gorgeous outdoor amphitheater. Beautiful setting and always a great crowd,” said Bunnell.

America plays Thursday night in Sandy at the Sandy Amphitheatre. After Sandy America tours North America and Europe before returning to Utah. They'll wrap up their tour November 7 in Provo.
