Utah's smoky skies from northwest US, western Canada

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 - Utah) The smoke in Utah's skies is not from any fire burning in Utah, but the northwestern US and western Canada.

Northwest winds have sent smoke from hundreds, even thousands of miles away.

Fires are burning in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, but the biggest culprit is actually in western Canada.

Air quality is at moderate over the next few days, but Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the worst days for smoky skies. The winds will be shifting over the next several days, leading to clearer skies.
