Utah state park ranger named AAA Rescuer of the Month

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Utah State Park Ranger Chris Quatrale was driving to work last December along the causeway between the mainland and Antelope Island when he saw something - a man who had fallen through the ice.

He called for help, and then he did something heroic. He went out on the unstable ice and pulled the man to safety.

Now Quatrale is being honored as AAA featured rescuer for January and is up for the Rescuer of the Year award.

Chris Hoglund with AAA Utah and Quatrale talk more about the honor.
