We’re already a couple of months into summer, and Utah Department of Transportation construction continues throughout the state. UDOT’s John Gleason is here with the latest details on current projects to help you plan ahead.

The first project we want to tell drivers about is on I-15 just south of Ogden.

Friday night, northbound I-15 will be closed at Riverdale Road from 11 p.m. until 9 o’clock the next morning. Then on Saturday night, southbound I-15 will close in the same location, from 11 p.m. until 9 a.m.

Detour signs will be posted and traffic will still be able to get through the closure. However, drivers will need to plan ahead for delays and allow extra travel time. This closure is part of a project to reconstruct Riverdale Road, and work is scheduled for completion this fall.

Crews are hard at work widening I-15 from North Salt Lake to Farmington. Construction is primarily scheduled during overnight hours to reduce traffic delays. If you’re traveling through this area at night, watch for lane restrictions.

Some major new lane restrictions are now in place in both directions on I-80 east of Park City.

I-80 is reduced to one lane, both eastbound and westbound, from the U.S. 40 junction to Wanship. The speed limit has been lowered to 45 miles per hour. These restrictions will remain in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through November.

We have been seeing delays through the construction zone, so allow yourself extra travel time. We’re recommending I-84 as a good alternate route to get to and from Wyoming.
