The Herald Journal of Logan reports that residents are suing Cache County in 1st District Court for approving a conditional-use permit in February for the ski area.
The Cherry Peak Ski Area would occupy about 200 acres of private land in the mountains outside of Richmond, a dozen miles north of Logan.
Opponents say the ski area could spook elk, deer and grouse on surrounding public lands. They say it's too close to the Richmond Wildlife Management Area and the Mount Naomi Wilderness Area.
