Police chase ends with two teens arrested for car theft

- SANTAQUIN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Two teens have been arrested after stealing a car and leading police on a chase.

Just before 6 p.m. Saturday night, Utah Highway Patrol Troopers received information on a car stolen from a youth home in Moroni.

The suspects identified as a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old from the youth home.

A short time late the car was spotted by a trooper and two Juab County deputies as it came down Nephi Canyon.

The officers tried to stop the car and a chase started.

The car went onto I-15 and exited at the Santaquin Main Street exit, went though the intersection and crashed into an embankment.

The two teens fled on foot but were quickly taken into custody.

There were no injuries from the crash or the pursuit.

Police determined the 15-year-old was driving.

The teens were taken to a nearby correctional facility.
