Officials: Stansbury Park lock down prompted by deputy's suicide

- STANSBURY PARK, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - All Stansbury Park schools were put under lock down after reports of shots fired in the surrounding neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

Tooele County officials confirmed Tuesday evening that the lock down was prompted by the self-inflicted shooting of a Tooele County Sheriff's Deputy.

The sheriff's office along with Utah Highway Patrol, Grantsville Police, Tooele Police and Adult Probation and Parole responded to the home at around noon after a report of hearing shots fired from the residence. The deputy was found dead inside.

All three schools in Stansbury Park were put on lock down until around 1:30 p.m. The incident is being investigated by the Tooele City Police Department.
