Minor injuries reported as plane crash lands in Bluffdale

BLUFFDALE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A small plane made a crash landing in a field in Bluffdale, but two people were able to escape with minor injuries.

According to Cpl. Matt Schauerhamer of Saratoga Springs Police, the plane was flying in from Washington State when the pilot noticed the engine was not running right. The pilot, who had his wife with him as a passenger, made an emergency landing in a field. The plane was upside down, but the two were able to escape with non life-threatening injuries.

Shauerhamer said the pilot had more than 30 years of experience and was able to avoid power lines and mountains during the crash landing.
