Many die due to organ donor shortage

Everyday, across the nation, about 79 people receive organ transplants.

On average of 18 people die each day while waiting for transplants because of a donor shortage.

Right now in Utah, more than 800 people remain on the waiting list to get an organ transplant.

Benjamin Madsen from Intermountain Medical Center explains how this happens.
