IRON COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A man who was wounded Friday while exchanging gunfire with an Iron County Sheriff's deputy was flown to the hospital Saturday morning with bleeding on the brain.

Grant Louis Biedermann, 41, was initially treated, released and booked into jail after a bullet grazed his head Friday. Biedermann allegedly shot at Deputy Kellen Hudson after he and two other deputies responded to the Red Lodge Campground in Kanarraville after a third party reported that Biedermann was suicidal.

In a statement released Saturday, Iron County Sheriff's Sgt. Charles Triplett said Hudson received a gunshot wound to the hip and was later treated and released. Hudson will remain on leave during the course of the investigation.

A bullet grazed Biedermann's head during the confrontation, and he was taken to Valley View Medical Center. He was treated for the wound and booked into Iron County Jail Friday night on two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. On Saturday morning, Biedermann developed bleeding on his brain, and he was flown to a hospital in northern Utah, according to the statement.
